Saving a historic building from the oblivion, (re)inventing a new life. This is what is happening to old Italian buildings in many local markets across the country. A recent article by “ILSOLE24ORE” gives an interesting account of this trend. And so, many historical estates’ owners, as old as they are prestigious, in order to offset the heavy maintenance costs, are renovating. But caution is the word: often the costs of reconversion and renewal exceed those of construction, making the entire endeavour risky, to say the least.
